Lanzarote Weather
The 7 Canary Islands are known for their all year warm climate but Lanzarote has proved itself to have the most consistenty pleasant climate of them all. Sands Beach Resort hotel is ideally placed in Costa Tequise, half way down the east coast, with large sandy beaches protected by headlands.

On average, Lanzarote only experiences 16 rainy days per year - that's just a meagre 140 mm of rainfall! The sun is never far away with 11 hours of sunshine a day at the summer peak between June and August and temperatures ranging from 21ºC in January to 29ºC in August. The sea is usually invitingly warm at between 18 and 23 Centigrade.

The temperatures in Lanzarote can be deceptive due to the mild alisio wind from the north-east that soothes the island, so be sensible and apply that sun lotion. Exposed inland areas can be quite breezy at times so if you go exploring or walking, a light pullover tucked in your bag, could be a good idea. The wind has been harnessed over the years in Lanzarote to power windmills and water pumps and the great artist and sculptor, César Manrique has made artistic use of it with a series of beautiful wind toys scattered around the island.
